Debbie Green was a 7 year old girl from Benwood, WV. She was like every other little girl... she loved going to school, cheerleading, and playing with her friends. Debbie was loved by all who knew her. She enjoyed life to the fullest. In 1970, Debbie was diagnosed with leukemia. For two long years, she battled the disease with courage and determination. 5K Run/Walk for Leukemia

Proceeds of the event will benefit a local recipient who suffers from leukemia. The recipient will be announced on race weekend. Start and finish lines located at Wheeling's Heritage Port. Start time is 7:00 pm. The course is USATF Certified. Free parking available at 12th & Main St. at the Robinson Professional Center lot courtesy of Jacob Robinson and Bob Fitzsimmons families.

Post-race shower facilities available at CentreTown Fitness. This race is part of the Washington County RRC Grand Prix. Three water stations throughout the course. retired.

5K FEES, REGISTRATION & PACKET PICKUP

5K fees are $20 prior to August 2nd, 2012 and $25 August 3rd and August 4th. Packet pickup is August 5th from 4-6 pm and on race day 3-6 pm SHARP! You may register online through 7pm Tuesday, July 31st online at www.debbiegreen5k.com. There is also a printable application on the website.

Championchip Timing

This year's race will be timed by the The Runner's High using the championchip system. On race day, runners and walkers will be issued a rental computer chip, which is attached to the shoelace and worn throughout the race. Special mats at the starting line and finish line will record a finished time for each chip. Make sure you get the right chip assigned to you. All chips MUST be returned at the finish line or the participant will be assessed a non-refundable, unreturnable chip replacement fee of $35.
